Introducing JETFlex^™ Interior Aircraft Coatings

In a continuing effort to provide high-quality, "one-stop" shopping for its aerospace coatings customers, The Sherwin-Williams Company, is introducing JETFlex™ Aircraft Interior Coatings. An attractive, decorative interior coating, JETFlex™ enters the market with instant credibility since it is manufactured by the same company that produces the superior aerospace coatings Jet Glo ® and Acry Glo ® .

JETFlex™ is available in two technologies, solvent-based and water-reducible, either of which will make finishing or recoating a success. Both have a full range of low-gloss and flat colors through Sherwin-Williams' Intermix System and are available in various Boeing color standards.

Whether it's an international or regional airline, a business jet, or single engine aircraft, JETFlex™ is ideal for the finishing and refinishing of various plastic, composite and even wood surfaces within the cabin and cockpit. JETFlex™ presents a pleasing, stylish appearance that helps provide a relaxing atmosphere for passengers and crew.

The solvent-based polyurethane enamel is a quick-drying, proven interior coating with outstanding physical and chemical resistance. With its excellent adhesion to plastic and metal surfaces, JETFlex™ solvent-based urethane is easy to apply and keeps its good looks between recoats. It meets BMS 10-83D, Type II and Type III specifications including the requirements for flammability, yellowing resistance and smoke stain resistance. It also meets FAA FAR 25.853 regulations for burn, smoke and heat release.

Sherwin-Williams also is offering JETFlex™ in water-reducible polyurethane dispersion with actual performance similar to solvent-based polyurethanes. With outstanding solvent and chemical resistance, this low VOC, one component coating is particularly reliable for plastic and composite finishes. Water-reducible JETFlex™ is ideal for cabin interior reworks where solvent emissions are an issue. It also meets the FAA FAR 25.853 regulations for burn, smoke and heat release.

The large variety of JETFlex™ colors suggests the possibility of numerous, engaging design selec-tions while guarding against soiling and helping to maintain an easy-to-clean surface.
